Mothers Making Millions was founded to give mothers an opportunity to have “work life blending” so they don’t have to compromise quality family time, if that’s what they choose. Again, that’s if they choose to stay home because a mother should also be able to choose to work if she wants to, but the emphasis in MMM is that finances should not make the decision for the family.

Our Belief

We believe in work life blending vs work life balance because seldom will there be a balance with work and life but when they blend, the work can be incorporated in the lives of the family so that priorities will not be neglected. MMM is also not about every mother making millions of dollars, because that’s not the desire for every woman, but it is more about that woman reaching whatever financial level she desires to work to achieve.

What We Do

We provide mothers with the financial education she needs to reach the potential she desires. As part of our training, we prepare the mother mentally to make certain that she will be committed to allow herself to reach her potentials without self sabotaging with doubts and insecurities. Then we identify her true aspirations, not the job she wants to just pay the bills.

Based on her aspirations, we identify the necessary education and skillsets required for the aspirations and assist her in obtaining them. We then focus on her support systems and associations to make sure that they are in alignment with her desires.

Ultimately, the objective is to take the limits off so that woman can see that her opportunities are endless, if she can mentally see it for herself. We start by believing in her until she can believe in herself.

How Finances Affect Mothers

In families where finances are not as plentiful as they should be, the decision for a mother to choose to work or choose to stay home with the children can be stressful. For many, the joys of mother hood can be overshadowed by the financial stress. Working mothers continue to carry a disproportionate share of the unpaid household and caregiving responsibilities. At the same time, they still face a lack of adequate workplace support and encounter barriers that prevent them from achieving economic security for themselves and their families.

Working mothers typically earn less than women without children, even when other factors such as education and work commitment are taken into account. Let’s not forget the gender stereotypes that portray working mothers as less devoted to their careers than non-mothers. This is especially true in high-demand professions that call for emotional toughness and tend to be more competitive.

Then you have some who perceive working mothers as lacking the determination to get ahead, they may also be regarded as violating social norms by failing to be “a good mom” if they put their careers ahead of their children.

Of course you also have the critics of stay at home moms who think it’s not “real” work at all. Just because there is no adequate compensation for being a stay at home mom doesn’t mean that it is not labor intensive as a result should have appropriate compensation. It is just that labor of love tasks are typically not measured in dollars and cents but in love given and received, which is priceless.

Although working fathers are increasingly sharing childcare duties with their spouses, the pressure placed on them is rarely as great since gender stereotypes tend to allow them more flexibility.

Finances affect nearly every aspect of abundant living today. Unfortunately many lack knowledge in the areas of wealth creation and wealth management and as a result it can also create other problems such as marriage and family issues, issues that affect the community, increase in crime, mental health issues, physical issues, negative consequences on future generations, and the list goes on. The financial stresses that many face today interfere with their progress towards other goals in life including, in some cases, their ability to fulfill the will of God for their lives.

Dr. Marie C. Gladden is licensed by the National Christian Counselors Association
as an advanced certified licensed child and adolescent therapist, advanced certified licensed clinical pastoral counselor, and advanced certified licensed temperament therapist.

Dr. Gladden has training in individual, couple, and group therapy; premarital, marriage and family therapy; as well as substance abuse, divorce care, sexual addiction, anger management, and child and adolescent therapy. Dr. Gladden desires that all grow to a place of spiritual maturity and emotional stability so that we can all fulfill the will of God for our lives and help the lost find salvation in Jesus Christ.
